Drifting Experiences and Practice Days

Drifting Experiences & Drift Taxi Hot Rides at Oulton Park & Buxton Race Way. We can soon help you master the art of Drifting with a lesson in one of our high powered rear wheel drive Drift cars! For more information on vouchers posted over Christmas click here.

What is Drifting?

Drifting’s popularity has been brought to public attention by the recent block buster movies ‘The Fast and Furious’ and ‘Tokyo Drift’. It’s also heavily featured in both ‘Top Gear’ and ’5th Gear’ TV programmes, no supercar road test is complete without a tyre burning drift session on the test track, so let us teach you how to do it too!

The Drift driving experience is a hugely popular activity. Like other driving experiences drift driving is an exhilarating thrill. You receive expert tuition as you get to launch one of our drift cars side ways through the corners, spinning the wheels as you power off to the next corner. Your instructor will teach you where you need to start turning, how to control a slide round a corner and other drifting tecniques!

Once you’ve mastered how to drift the car around the course you then get to jump into the passenger seat and hold on as you’re taken for an expertly driven ride by your instructer!

Don’t worry its safe!

Our Drift days are run on purpose built, low grip tarmac tracks, located on the infield of the Oulton park race circuit in Cheshire. The worst thing that can happen is a spin off onto the grass, providing great entertainment for the spectators! And don’t forget, your instructor will be there at all times.

Our highly experienced instructors literally help and drive with you, talking you through the techniques you need to master. This means that even people with no experience at all can very quickly learn the art of skid control, power slides and braking techniques. As you get better your instructor will help less, you will be amazed how quickly you will be DRIFTING!

Call or Email us today to organize a fantastic experience for you or your friend or family member.

*Ticket will be sent out with any new purchase, remaining dates are 24th September and 29th October

Happy 2012!

Happy New Year Drift One Fans…

This year we’re set for bigger and better things!

Buxton will be more fierce with a full Saturdays practice and a full day of competing on the Sunday. We have 9 weekenders lined up this year so we hope to see all the faces from last year and the new faces competing this year.

We’ve started at Oulton Park in February this year, a month earlier than last year! With the passenger laps already full for February and a few spaces remaining for the driving experiences, we’re set for a busy year!

Big thanks to all the instructors, admin, organisers and both circuits for accommodating us and working with us in 2011. We hope to build on our success of last year with a bigger fleet of cars and drivers. The cars at the moment are being prepped to be sprayed and re-stickered ahead of the 2012 season.

Bring on 2012…

Buxton October 29th & 30th

Wow, again what an amazing weekend!

”To Drift” -To perform an advanced turn in a car involving horizontal sliding of the wheels to achieve a sharper turn angle.

It was our last visit this year to Buxton Raceway, and what a busy one it was! We had Twin Drift Battles on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday
The winner on Saturday after a brilliant battle was Ryan. He beat his opponent to the title and the coverted first prize. Celebrations were had by all on Saturday evening as the team prepared for the next days battles.

Sunday
Sunday started with an extra hour in bed. The clocks went back before the passenger laps begun at 9.00am. We had more passenger rides than ever this weekend keeping us busy all morning. At 1pm the practice begun for the Twin Drift Battles and the competition kicked off at 3pm.

At the top spot was Jonathan Jones claiming his second battle win this season beating Craig to the title. Celebrations and goodbyes as the night drew in and everyone wrapped up Buxton Raceway for the winter.

Jonathan Says:
”I can’t thank everyone enough for coming along and making these weekends what they are. Without all the drivers, marshals, spectators, first timers, gate people and the endless support from the rest of you, these events just wouldn’t work.”

We think we can speak for all Buxton-goers…

Buxton September 24th & 25th

What a weekend…

What another brilliant weekend at Buxton! This weekend not only saw our very own John win the Twin Drift Competition on Saturday but a hag do celebration and an ODC Buxton Final thrown in there for good measure!
The weather didn’t know what it was doing this weekend from torrential rain to sunshine, a good time was had by all!

Saturday – Twin Drift Battles

Saturday started from 10am with passenger laps which continued through until lunch. After this the practice begun! Some very close calls throughout the competition with the winner being our very own Jonathan Jones (pictured right).

Jonathan Jones Says
”I don’t think I have ever seen driving like it. Anywhere. Anyone who took part needs a big pat on the back.”

After the days events the drivers adjourned to the bar and ordered in a takeaway to celebrate two of our drifters ‘Hag’ Do Laura and Mike. Congratulations to you both from us at Drift One Ltd.

Thank you’s…
There are so many people that make this happen, from the lady on the gate, the people signing people on, my nephew Kieran for helping so much and my partner Helen for brushing up the cement dust from an oil spill.
So we would like to thank everyone who drove, helped, watched, worked hard changing tyres, pushed things, lent things, marshaled, worked on the gate, fixed things and generally helped make the weekend a success!

Sunday – ODC Buxton Finale

Sundays Events started with passenger laps from 11.00am and practice until lunch. The final was brilliant! Every driver gave it there all to be ‘king of the hills’ and in the end only one could win. Congratulations Ed Coley (struggle).

Jonathan Jones Says
”I must also say that Struggle drove his wheels off for that win on Sunday. He was aided by not being there in the bar on Saturday night I’m sure, but non the less a stunning drive. He’s the man to beat now.”

You and Matt fought it out for the title and made it thrilling for all those who watched! Care to watch it again…?
