So the final round has now been completed and we have our top 8 drivers…!
Well done to all those who entered and qualifiers for the Donington final in November. It was a very busy exciting round. Over 300 spectators came to watch the final round held at Buxton Raceway on 21st August.
Below is a table containing the finalists! We have 4 entered from Class A and 4 from Class B! Big well done to the other drivers too!
Donnington Final
Twin Drift Battles
Well Saturday begun from 1pm with a free practice and the battles began at 4pm. The Twin Drift Battles were amazing!
Such close driving was brilliant to see. Rich Grindrod pipped John Jones to the post (again) with an amazing display of talent. Well done Rich, nice trophy as well courtesy of Mutant Engineering. Cheers Brad.
Open Drift Championship
Sunday started as always with passenger rides, cheers to the drivers, good job.
So then open practice, the way the regular drivers have come on is amazing.
Jonathan Jones Says:
“I never thought I’d be able to allow 5 / 6 cars out at once, but it eats through the queue meaning more seat time for all.”
The last ODC round before the final was a fast one. And so hard to drive with an outside clipping point the whole way round the wall of the two main corners.
We were joined by a celebrity guest judge today, MrNick came for a thrash round and helped judge, cheers Nick, nice to see you as always.
We were staggered by how busy the circuit was. Over 300 people were watching the Open Drift Championship Sunday afternoon. Just brilliant!
So thanks to everyone who helped, drove, watched, worked hard changing tyres, pushed things, lent things, marshaled, worked on the gate, fixed things and generally helped make the weekend a success.
